Founder and Child – Centered Play Therapist
Jennifer is the Owner and Director of Healing Connections. She has over 15 years of experience supporting children and families across a variety of clinical and advocacy settings. Throughout her career, Jennifer has served as a Child and Family Advocate, Forensic Interviewer, and Medical Social Worker at Michigan Medicine, where she developed a deep understanding of the complex needs children and families face during difficult times. Jennifer founded Healing Connections with a passion for helping children feel seen, safe, and understood. Her work focuses on helping children heal through Child-Centered Play Therapy, creating a supportive space where children can process emotions, build resilience, and strengthen their connection with caregivers. Jennifer is dedicated to partnering with families and empowering children on their path toward healing and growth.
Jua’Chelle Harmon, LLMSW
Therapist
Jua’Chelle is an LLMSW who uses a client-focused lens that promotes creativity, inclusion, and well-being for her clients and their families. In her experiences working with youth, Jua’Chelle has understood the value of play and how youth express themselves. She plans to use those communication styles to help her understand her clients and reach their goals in therapy. Jua’Chelle is open to using modalities and techniques that help her clients but has experience with play-based therapy, grief support, trauma-informed care, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). With her focus on working with youth, Jua’Chelle is committed to providing safe space, a caring environment, and quality care to her clients and their families.
Rita D’Angelo Ph.D.
Administrative Support
Rita D’Angelo, Ph.D serves as Administrative Support, bringing over 20 years of experience in healthcare operations, quality systems, and process improvement. She holds a Ph.D. in Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering and has led large-scale quality initiatives across multi-site healthcare systems, ensuring compliance and high performance. Dr. D’Angelo oversees daily operations and supports efficient, high-quality, client-centered care, allowing therapists to focus on helping children and families thrive. She is also an experienced educator and consultant in Lean Six Sigma, guiding organizations in building sustainable, high-performing systems.

Theodore is gentle, friendly and his role is to help create a calming and supportive environment for children and families. Theodore loves cuddles, gentle pets, and making new friends. While he is still learning and growing, he’s here to be a positive companion for children and families during their therapy journey. 💙
