Meet Your Therapist
Mary Halas LLMSW
Mary is a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) who is passionate about supporting children and families through a neurodiversity-affirming, child-centered approach.
Mary brings years of experience working in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), where she developed a strong understanding of supporting neurodivergent children and their unique strengths, communication styles, sensory needs, and emotional experiences. She now brings that experience into the therapy room through Child-Centered Play Therapy, creating a safe, accepting, and supportive space where children can express themselves, build connection, and work through challenges in a way that feels natural to them.
Mary has a particular passion for working with Autistic and neurodivergent children, while also providing Child-Centered Play Therapy to children experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. She works with children who may be struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, social relationships, transitions, family changes, self-esteem, school-related challenges, and other difficulties that can feel overwhelming to navigate on their own.
Mary believes children communicate in many different ways, and sometimes the most meaningful conversations happen through play. Her approach allows children to lead the therapeutic process while developing emotional awareness, coping skills, confidence, and a stronger sense of connection.
At the heart of Mary’s work is the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, understood, accepted, and supported for who they are. Through play and a trusting therapeutic relationship, she helps children discover their strengths and develop the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges.
