Worry to Grounded: An Anxiety and Confidence-Building Therapy Group

Big worries can feel even bigger for little ones. Worry to Grounded is a small, supportive therapy group where children learn practical tools for managing worry, building confidence, and understanding what anxiety feels like in their bodies. Over six weeks, kids explore their big feelings, practice coping skills, and connect with peers who understand what they’re going through.

Led by clinical LLMSW Jua’Chelle Harmon, this group is designed for children ages 7 to 10, though we welcome other ages when there is enough interest. Each Saturday session blends discussion, play, and skill-building in a warm, encouraging space, so children leave feeling more grounded and more confident in who they are.

What Should Parents Expect

Each Saturday, your child will join a small group of peers for a 90-minute session led by a licensed clinical LLMSW. Sessions are warm, playful, and paced for children ages 7 to 10. Over six weeks, kids will talk about worries, learn how anxiety shows up in their bodies, and practice coping skills they can use at home and at school. The group moves from getting to know each other and setting group guidelines, through coping and confidence-building, to a closing session focused on self-esteem. Children aren’t expected to share more than they’re comfortable with, and every child is encouraged to participate at their own pace. You can expect your child to leave each week with new tools to try and a stronger sense that they’re not alone in their big feelings. Questions before enrolling? Jua’Chelle is happy to talk with you.
